The Arts and Crafts Movement in the North West

A study afternoon with afternoon tea looking at the Arts and Crafts Collection of the Manchester Metropolitan Museum and the latest research on the Northern Art Workers' Guild. Further details.

 

Spring/Summer 2020: Our year of William Morris

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the church we will focus on the work of William Morris with study afternoons, visits and lectures. Confirmed events so far are:

Saturday March 14th: Getting to know William Morris

Study afternoon featuring a series of short talks focusing on Morris as poet, artist, designer and business man.

Monday May 4th: Day Trip to see Morris glass

Our annual expedition, this time to view Morris glass in Darley Dale, Youlgreave and Macclesfield.

 

Thursday 18th June 2020
"Tears wept by our windows"- restoring Morris glass

A lecture by Alison Gilchrist of Barley Studios, one of the leading specialist restorers and conservators of Morris glass.
