The Hudsons of Brabyns
Over 80 people attended the talk by Mark Hudson on 25th April, when Mark described the history of the Hudson family from Tudor times as yeoman farmers in Westmoreland through to the end of WWII when the family ended its involvement with Brabyns Hall. The history followed closely the fortunes of the country at large and this was a theme that Mark emphasised strongly throughout the talk reflecting the social and economic circumstances of the times. He also provided a number of fascinating family recollections which added to our knowledge of the family who founded our church, and we also were able to enlighten him on some details from our own and MLHS researches. The picture below shows Mark with trustees of The St Martin's Heritage Trust.
