The Trust describes how it has researched the stained glass at St Martin’s, including preservation and restoration methods, and explains its hopes for further work on the stained glass.

St Martin’s Christmas Tree Festival returns this year (after absence due to the pandemic), and our Christmas crib will appear in church as usual. In this talk Anthony Burton considers the origins of these customs.

Programme of Events 2022
The programme of events up to autumn 2022 is now in place.
Heritage Open Days 2021
Friday 10 September, 2 - 6pm;
Saturday 11 September, 10 - 3pm.
The church will be open with plentiful information. Any Covid restrictions in place at the time will be observed. At present it looks as if free-flow visiting will be possible. In the Church Hall there will be a small exhibition on ‘Edible Marple’, surveying suppliers of food and hospitality in Marple from Oldknow’s day to recent times.
