Community Art Exhibition

Saturday/Sunday October 26th/27th 2019

Curated by Rev Ann Hyde, an exhibition in Church of artworks by various community groups taking inspiration from the stained glass window on the east wall depicting Christ in Majesty. The exhibition will be held in Church 1030-1600 Saturday 26th and from 1400-1600 Sunday 27th.

Arts and Crafts Textiles

Friday 7th June: Lecture by Rev Ann Hyde "Arts and Crafts Textiles". Rev Ann surveys textiles embroideries and fabrics of the Arts and Crafts movement. 7.30 pm in St Martin's Church on Brabyns Brow.

Visit to 3 Staffordshire churches

Monday 6th May: Visit to 3 Staffordshire churches. Following last year's highly enjoyable trip, a further minibus tour to visit 3 churches illustrating the development of Anglican practice through church art and architecture. The trip includes St Giles, Cheadle, the acknowledged masterpiece of A W N Pugin.

The Hudsons of Brabyns

Over 80 people attended the talk by Mark Hudson on 25th April, when Mark described the history of the Hudson family from Tudor times as yeoman farmers in Westmoreland through to the end of WWII when the family ended its involvement with Brabyns Hall.
