St Martin's Heritage Trust accounts signed off
A copy of the accounts signed off by the trustees for our first period of activity to 31 December 2015 can be seen here.
Restoration Projects
At a recent meeting the Trustees agreed that the first project for the Trust would be the restoration of the War Memorial in Church. This would involve cleaning the bronze sculpture and refreshing the gold lettering of the names of the fallen. Initially we will seek advice from the experts within the Diocese on how to proceed and this is in process. We will also investigate the possibility of altering the lighting within Church in that area so that the details of the sculpture can be better shown.

St Martin's Low Marple Heritage Trust set up!
Our application to the Charity Commission to set up a charitable trust was approved on 28 July 2014, and we are now proceeding to develop the work of the Trust and to recruit Friends, as described in this website.
Introductory Lectures
Two lectures were given by Anthony Burton:
- “The Beauty of Holiness: The background to the artistic heritage of St Martin’s” on Friday 11 July 2014.
- “The Making of St Martin’s: The aggregation of an Arts and Crafts Church” on Friday 18 July 2014.
These attracted remarkably good audiences, and aroused local interest, including some invitations to repeat the talks to other bodies. If you are interested in a repeat performance, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
